Here's a roundup of our area's Independence Day celebrations:
June 30, Arlington Sports Complex, 5 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
July 1 & July 3 at AutoZone Park
The Redbirds will have postgame fireworks after their games on Saturday, July 1, and Monday, July 3 against the Nashville Sounds. The first 1,500 fans to Saturday's game also get a free Replica Memphis Redbirds Powder Blue Jersey.
July 1-2, Graceland
Fourth of July fun for all ages, featuring Elvis, rock ‘n’ roll, BBQ, movies, concerts, Sunday gospel brunch, hidden Graceland tours, and, of course, fireworks! About The Fireworks: All-American Party & Elvis Fireworks Extravaganza is at 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd. Free admission (including parking) at Graceland’s main parking lot. Fireworks will go on after sunset, set to Elvis music. Tickets to go inside the exhibits will be sold separately.
July 1, Chimes Square, Overton Square, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Head over to “Chimes Square” in Overton Square for July 4th fun that's free & family friendly. Enjoy live music and free face painting & balloon art for the kids. The Fire Museum will be on hand with cool vintage fire trucks. Bayou is on hand with hot dogs and snacks, with grown-up cocktails from Babalu, and treats from Sweet Noshings.
July 3, Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center, 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Bartlett’s annual celebration is more than a fireworks bonanza. They’ll have a whole program starting at 6 p.m., including live music, a car display, and food trucks. Fireworks start at 9:10 p.m.
July 3, H.W. Cox Park, 6 p.m.
Join in on the community celebration (37th annual event!). Food vendors open at 6. p.m. with entertainment to follow at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The fireworks show lasts 18-minutes marking it one of the largest in the area and it will be set to a live music performance. Bands include Alice Hasen & the Blaze, a fiddle-powered groove band, and Soul Shockers performing a mix of classic 60's Motown, 70's funk, and today's top dance hits. The event will move to July 4th in the event of rain.
July 3, Liberty Park, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Free parking, free event, family-friendly event with live music, local food trucks, kids' inflatables, face painting, and carnival games. There will also be a family-friendly movie showing all ahead of the biggest fireworks show in town starting at 9 p.m.
*This is the City of Memphis' fireworks show that is normally held downtown but is taking place at Liberty Park for the second year due to ongoing renovations to Tom Lee Park.
July 4, Central Gardens - York Avenue, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Taking place on York Avenue, join the Central Gardens Association for the July 4th Parade. The parade route will start in the rear parking lot of Immaculate Conception Cathedral (IC), will march eastward to the 1800 block of York, and then circle the median to return toward the IC parking lot. All post-parade activities will take place just outside the IC lot. Kids can enjoy crafts and parade attendees will be provided free snacks with two hot dog stands. There will also be live music, yard games, and more.
July 4, Peabody Elementary / Cooper Street, 10 a.m.
Join the Cooper-Young Community Association for a VERY CHILL 4th of July "parade"! Bring your kiddos, their little wheels, and we'll enjoy frozen treats, a special appearance by the Memphis Fire Department and one another's company while celebrating this Cooper-Young summer tradition.
July 4, Municipal Park, 5 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Celebrate the nation’s birthday with live music, moon bounces, games, crafts, refreshments and a spectacular fireworks display. No rain date. Fun and food begin at 5 p.m., fireworks at 9:10 p.m.
